The Rocstor Thunderstudio™ may be the most flexible PCIe and storage expansion unit ever created. It supports a choice of three major functionality in one reliable chassis system. The Thunderstudio™ acts as a powerful workstation once the optional Mac© Pro has been installed. Thunderstudio’s revolutionary design, allows you to easily mount a Mac Pro in a secure housing inside its chassis.

This will allow for an immediate four (4) slot PCIe expandability and access to 8-Bay 2.5” SFF Thunderbolt™ 2 storage expansion. Thunderstudio is designed to be used in a Desktop format or to be installed in any conventional 19” RETMA/EIA rack with a 4U rackmount option sold separately.

The versatile design of Thudnerboltstudio safely houses a new-generation MacPRO® computer, remotes its on-off power function and all of its I-O ports, and provides boost cooling to the computer to keep it running cooler. It has internal forced air cooling and is powered by an internal 460 Watt power supply. The chassis includes a Quad (4) PCIe expansion slots and eight (8) Small Form Factor (SFF) 2.5” hot-swap storage bays.

The ultra-fast storage subsystem is driven by an internal ATTO 6Gb SAS RAID Controller which provides RAID 0,1,4,5,6 user selectable settings via the supplied browser-based GUI.

The Thunderstuio system is an Intel-Certified product featuring four x16 (mechanically, x4 electrically) PCIe expansion slots and quad 20Gbps Thunderbolt-2 I/O ports so other compatible Thunderbolt products may be daisy-chained for the maximum connection flexibility.

The Thunderstudio™ utilizes the ATTO SAS RAID controller which occupies one of the PCIe slots. The performance is exceptionally fast for any professional user utilizing SSD or HDD drives. Proudly made in USA and TAA compliant for any commercial or government use.

The advance architectural design of Thunderstudio™ enhances operating bandwidth for demanding applications that utilizes all the 20Gbps bandwidth available from each Thunderbolt port. This unit with its internal hardware ATTO (SAS) RAID controller and eight RAID drives (rotating or SSD) can operate at “full speed” up to (1200+ MB/s transfer rates) using one bus while other demanding peripherals can operate at full speed using the other bus. Using popular SFF SSDs in the RAID easily provides sustained data transfer speeds of up to or greater than 1200 MB/s for “working” files.

The RAID ready drive cage supports 8 hot-swappable 2.5” SFF disk drive carriers utilizing its fast 6Gb SAS backplane/drive cage. In Front of the chassis you will find easy access panel I-O connections such as GbE; USB 3.0; HDMI; mic/headphones A/V ports. In the Rear panel I-O connections you will have access to Dual Thunderbolt-2 expansion ports; any I-O ports provided by installed PCIe peripheral cards; and the option to install the front panel I-O panel on the rear rather than the front panel
